I just had to get this
photo up. It's a
12.3 lbs. sheepshead
that measured over 33
inches. It's the largest
drum ever caught off
any of my boats. It took
more than a few
minutes to land this
beauty. It was released
unharm and swam
away.

Yes, there are 18 walleyes up on the rack and only two
anglers. The third fisherman, Capt. Tony, took the
photo since no one else was at the marina to assist.
If you've read the information on my pages you know that I don't troll
for my fish. But here is a tackle innovation that is worthy of mention.
In my opinion it is one of the best ideas in tackle storage to come
along in many years. I recommend it to all fishermen who troll, and
drift at least some of the time.

FISHING REPORT
05/03/2008   Walleye fishing has been excellent at
times in the past week. The best jig fishing
continues to be in Maumee Bay, nearshore from
Crane Creek to Locust Point, around K can of the
Camp Perry range, and on the reefs of the Camp
Perry firing range near Port Clinton. The best jigs
have been purple, chartreuse or orange hair jigs
tipped with shiners. Trollers are catching fish
around Rattlesnake Island, North Bass Island, and
north of Kelleys Island. The best trolling lures have
been worm harnesses with inline weights or snap
weights, and both shallow and deep diving
crankbaits in Pink Lemonade and Wonderbread
color patterns
